In the classroom: Authority is a public trust; leaders must demonstrate integrity, competence, and respect for the people. Chapter Six sets rules for election and appointment to office.

Article 73 — Responsibilities of leadership

Personal integrity, selfless service, objectivity, accountability, and honesty.

Article 75 — Restriction on activities of State officers

State officers must not engage in other gainful employment inconsistent with the office (subject to law).

Article 76 — Citizenship by birth only

Only citizens by birth may hold certain offices (e.g. President, Deputy President, Governor).
